Since Twitter’s board welcomed Jack Dorsey back I’ve found myself with mixed feelings. This post will change as my thoughts evolve. They will be quick short thoughts. If you want to discuss, hit me in the comments.
2/15/2016 · Hey Twitter! Just a thought. If you want to grow your userbase, I ask you to consider 3 things.
- Twitter for the rest of the World won’t look like the Twitter I adopted over 7 years ago
- Twitter is a product reflective of culture. The less diverse your product and engineering team, the more disconnected your product will be from the real world
- Consider buying and integrating some media properties. Extending the reach of Twitter and integrating deepend

10/16/2015 · As an entrepreneur I’m excited about the potential of Twitter, but as a developer I’m not touching it with a 10 foot pole. Over the past few years, the treatment of its developer community has hurt Twitter’s growth and will continue to. With an open platform developers are willing to try things to push innovation, adoption and usage. These “attempts” spread the risk reducing the cost of innovation to Twitter. For now innovation and growth will continue to be “expensive” for the platform as they’ve gone back to assuming all of the risk. The potential to get “cut off” is just too high. I hope Jack returns to the helm and adds developer love, access and support to his agenda.
Just my 2 cents. What do you think?
